Man Uses Internet To Save His Ex-Wife's Life

July 2, 2004 -- Michael Hansen, a website developer, is using the internet to publicize the plight of his ex-wife. He constructed and published a website to describe her fight with cancer. The website seeks donations. "Even if someone can't give any money, I ask them to forward the url to their friends." Michael said. "If enough people see the site, who knows, maybe the collective force of many people will cause a miracle for Karen."

The website received 100 unique visitors in the first 18 hours and hits are still coming in.

His ex-wife, Karen, a teacher of physically and mentally disabled children, is fighting breast cancer which has spread into her bone. Because her medical insurance refuses to pay for her treatments, she must pay the $ 3,500 monthy treatment costs out of her pocket. Her bill to the treatment center now exceeds $ 40,000. Recently, treatment center told her they want her to pay at least $ 18,900 in order to continue her treatments. Without the treatments, Karen may die.

An auction has been set up on eBay titled, "Help Save My Ex-wife". Michael hopes this auction will raise money for her.

Karen's website is located at http://www.freewebs.com/karen1056

The ebay auction can be found at auction number is 5505207173.

Even if you can't donate, please visit her website and forward it to all of your friends and family.
