Double-D - Donations Doubled! Charities to get Extra Support from Double-D.com during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Online lingerie retailer Double-D.com today announced it would DOUBLE it's normal donations during Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM). For every order received in October, Double-D.com will now donate £1 (~$1.40) from it's profits. In addition, they will also donate £20 (~$28) for every order over £150 (~$210). So just by shopping for lingerie at Double-D.com you will help to make a positive difference to someone else's life.
The money raised will be divided equally between Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a charity committed to fighting breast cancer through research and awareness, and breast cancer research projects at the Imperial Cancer Research Fund (ICRF).
Double-D.com sells quality brand name lingerie, concentrating on hard-to-find back and cup sizes, with all ranges including D, DD and E cups. The website offers a wide choice and gives customers a simple, convenient and enjoyable online shopping experience, as well as lingerie and breast related information, advice and inspiration.
To help visitors find out more about BCAM, Double-D.com has expanded its breast cancer information section to include fund raising events in aid of ICRF and Breakthrough. There are also details of Pink Ribbon magazine, the only women's lifestyle magazine to raise funds for breast cancer charities. Pink Ribbon editor, Felicity Hawkins, said, "Although Pink Ribbon is first and foremost a fun, entertaining read, its pages also carry a serious message for Britain's 30 million women - be breast aware." Customers at Double-D.com can also make a direct contribution to fund raising by adding a silk Pink Ribbon to their order.
Rachel McFadzean-Ferguson, Head of Corporate Fundraising at ICRF, commenting on the work of Double-D.com, said, "Imperial Cancer Research Fund is delighted to be involved with the new on-line retailer Double-D.com. As a charity we depend almost entirely on voluntary donations from individuals, trusts and companies in our search to find new answers to cancer. With help from companies like Double-D.com Imperial Cancer can continue to make real progress in cancer research, turning science into hope for many thousands of people.
Peter Reynolds, Director of fundraising, at Breakthrough Breast Cancer, welcomed the new partnership with Double-D.com and said "Since Breakthrough was established in 1991 many companies have helped to raise over £10 million for Breakthrough. Their support contributed greatly to establishing the Breakthrough Toby Robins Breast Cancer Research Centre at the Institute of Cancer Research, paying for vital equipment and funding the scientist's research. The charity still relies heavily on their enthusiasm and initiative to reach its target of £5 million a year. We are delighted that every purchase made on Double-D.com will help to fund Breakthrough's vital research and awareness projects in the fight against breast cancer."
Linda Parrish-Smith, Managing Director of Double-D.com, said, "I'm very happy that we are able to increase our support for breast cancer research this October. I'd also like to thank our customers for their support, because they are the reason we are able to give time and money to this very worthwhile cause."
